All About Cindy Lou
Cindy Lou is our black pug puppy. She is as full of love for people as she is full of spunk. If I go out of the room for a few minutes, she wiggles all over and jumps like a happy fish on my return, like I have been gone for hours.
We potty trained her to go in a box with treats as a reward, so when she has to go, she always makes sure one of us is watching her so she will get her treat!
Our favorite thing to watch is her "bullet run." That is when she suddenly starts running circles around the room with her tail tucked down and her little legs flying for joy, with her head high, and with a grin on her funny face, as close to a real grin as a dog can get!
Her heart must be more human than dog, because all she wants to do is be with people. She will follow any person she is outside with without a leash, and when she and her human pet get to the door, she runs back inside without waiting for a call to come! It is a bit hard when we cannot be with her, because she will chew things up in sorrow at being alone. However, we can thank God for pet kennels! In the pet kennel with her chew bone and blankie, she can only chew a toy or go to sleep. But she is a bundle of energy when we finally get her out again...Woah Nellie!

Cindy Bindy eats so Funny!
Cindy Lou loves fruits, vegetables, and anything else edible. She will eat lettuce, oranges, broccoli, you name it! Our other dog might eat a bite of apple, but try giving her a piece of orange or lettuce and she looks at you in disgust!

My Dog's Funniest Game (and her Name)
Her favorite trick is "get the chicken," a tug of war and fetch game with a stuffed penguin. We call it a chicken because it sounds funny to say, "Get the Chicken" to her. She will bring the chicken to us, growl, and shake it at us to get us to play tug of war. Then we will pull at it and say she is a tough girl while she growls and shakes it back. When we throw it, she races along as fast as she can, and has leaped things like boxes with it hanging down from her mouth to bring it back fast!
How she got her name: We were driving on the way home from Oregon, and my daughter was trying to think of a name. She thought of Cindy, and then thought of Cindy Lou like Cindy Lou Who, because it was the day after Christmas. She decided on the name for sure when I told her about the old song that says, "I wish I was an apple, a hanging on a tree, and every time that Cindy passed she'd take a bite of me." As the puppy was rather rambunctious and liked to bite (she has since learned not to do that), she thought Cindy would be perfect, and that Cindy Lou would be even better, as her eyes are large and sad like Cindy Lou Who on the Christmas cartoon.
