These freeware programs from David Paul Green are well designed, free standing databases for logging your observations. TSOL (the simple observing log) is straight forward general purpose entry log, while TUMOL (the ultimate Messier observing log) is more feature rich with images of all the Messier objects.

You simply will not believe that such a professionally developed planetarium software is FREEWARE. Cartes du Ciel stacks up with some of the best commercial products. It contains 26 catalogs of stars and nebulea, as well as loads of options for customizing your screen including a nice night vision screen and an interface to command most telescopes. Save charts in a variety of formats to facilitate you viewing sessions. High praise and a full 5 stars for Cartes du Ciel. Comes included on the Deep Sky 2002 disk.
