Our Cherokee traditions tell us that we came from the stars and in the end we will return

Living in a forest, as I do, gives one a lot of opportunity to stargaze. During the day my celing is a canopy of branches. During the night my ceiling expands into the vastness of space. Perhaps it is having a ceiling that reaches out and touches forever, or perhaps it is the effect of moonbeams on my brain. Whatever it is, I have been reflecting. Now, I'm no physicist, quantitative, theoretical, astro or otherwise; although I may be of the gastronomical type (full of hot air), but I just cannot help but see parallels between what the ancients have always taught and the "new" discoveries of modern science.

The concept of Matter and Anti-Matter for instance: the scientific fact that for every molecule of matter there exists a parallel component, anit-matter. I think we've heard that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Now several things come up for me here.
Can one exist without the other? Our people speak about the Rule of Opposites, an important belief that helps us to find balance, acceptance and understanding. Would we truly appreciate the Light in the absence of the Dark..and vice versa? Without the challenges of life (the 'bad' times) could we and would we still grow in wisdom and strength? Perhaps it is in changing our perception of both ends of the spectrum rather than focusing on the elimination of one or the other, that we rid ourselves of fear, prejudice, and war.
Another thought is that our traditions tell of a world under this one. A world where our Spring is their Autumn and so forth. Perhaps it is not exactly "under"us, but in the sense of opposites, could a parallel universe exist?

Then there is the fascinating concept of Black Holes. a star that has burned itself out and collapsed, having used up all its gases and by the law of gravity, as its properties are changed it begins to pull in on itself, collapsing. The molecules become smaller and smaller causing it to become more and more dense. The denser it becomes, the more gravitational pull it has. As the gravitational pull increases, it begins to pull the mass from surrounding bodies into its gravitational field. The denser that gets, the gravitational pull increases even more. In a sense feeding itself. As the gases and other matter are pulled in and all this becomes increasingly dense, the atoms start colliding with each other, which creates heat - energy. What we get are radio signals emanating from a source we cannot see. We also observe a bright object circling something that we cannot see. We theorize that the object we cannnot see is a Black Hole. The spiraling effect of this bright light with a black center, or tunnel effect, combined with the Rule of Opposites, reminds me of the many life after life (also called life after death) experiences described as "going down a tunnel to the light" etc. Of course, this begs the question, which end of the tunnel are we at?

So, what happens as all this mass continues to increase its gravity? At some point it has to end right? Here is where one realy gets into theory. In fact its called the Unification Theory. This says that all energies, no matter the source or how observed or described (gravitational, atomic, or magnetic) are related to each other; are in fact, one. Well now! Here's a thought. Haven't Native Peoples teachings always stressed that all things are related? this certianly takes it a step further, or maybe is only a step we have lost sight of over the years. perhaps the Ancient Ones knew this greater sense of oneness. I wonder.

There is of course, as the eminent authority on such matters, Professor Steven Hawkins theorizes, the very good probability that at this point of singularity everything changes. The laws of gravity, the laws of physics no

longer apply. Perhaps we reach the point of "re"creation, the BIG BANG. Perhaps we reach a diffferent dimension. What we do know is that we have reached the point of change. On a purely leather soles slapping the pavement level, I think when humanity really understands this point of singularity, this unification theory - when the concept that all things truly are related to each other becomes a part of their consciousness, then I think there will be a "re"creation of humanity.

So I think about all this and then I wonder.....

When we leave this life do we spiral down (or up depending on perspective) a tunnel to the point of becoming pure energy, to the point of becoming one with all else in an ever more expanding way? At that point are we changed, recreated? I choose to think so. Although I'm in no rush, I sure do look forward to the journey.
Ah yes, sometimes I sit outside at night. I look at the stars and I think about these things. Sure is a lot to think about on a starry night.
Now then.... about Energy.....
hmmm, reflections for another night.
