Brian Johnson the 6-9, 240 pound forward from Maryland has decided to make some changes to his schedule for this summer, and he has also made some changes to his list of current colleges that he is looking at.
Johnson injured his knee in the first part of June at the USA Junior World Championship Qualifying Team out in Colorado Springs, but since has made a nice recovery. Despite the injury Johnson made the cut for the USA Team's initial 16 and was looking forward to making the final cut of 12, but has since decided to forgo playing for the team at all, instead he will be playing at the Nike All-American Camp and other AAU events throughout the summer. "I decided since I played for the USA Team last summer, that I wanted to play AAU ball this summer since it was going to be my last chance to play AAU again," Johnson said.
As for his updated college lists which seems to change quite often these days, Johnson still insists that UNC is the clear cut leader, with newcomer Louisville right behind followed by Notre Dame, and Florida thus eliminating Duke and Maryland from the competition. "UNC is stiil the leader, but Louisville and Rick Pitino have put some heat on the whole process." Johnson said that he plans to make his official visits sometime in late August and early September before reaching a final decision.
