1. Your old boss would probably have thrown a fit if your personal trainer showed up at the office to help you firm up those pecs, but now that you work from home completely unsupervised, why not? Especially if you have some work out equipment at home, getting a personal trainer might be exactly what you need to take healthy breaks from your work from home job and get healthier at the same time.
2. You work from home. You're free. GO FOR A WALK! Again, because you work from home you are far more likely to have a lot more control over your schedule. Going for a walk will break up your day, bring life-giving oxygen into your body, rev up your metabolism and burn calories, and make you feel great.
3. Slap on some weights, nobody's watching. Again, because you work from home you're free. Wearing body weights can be a simple, easy way to increase the amount of effort your body has to put out just to complete every day tasks.
Diane once worked in an office-based collection agency but after the birth of her daughter got permission to work from home. In her line of work she frequently got herself tangled up in arguments with people on the phone. When the stress got to her she put on a pair of boxing gloves -- no kidding -- and duked it out with a life-size plastic dummy designed to train boxers (available from larger sporting goods stores). After a few rounds she was unstressed, invigorated, oxygenated and ready to go back to work.
You can probably find many different ways to turn your work from home opportunity into an opportunity to get in better shape and enjoy better health. Why not take a break from your work from home job, go for a walk and think about it?
