I fully realize that upon my publication of this book I will be spending some time in court. I'm well ready for this venture. But, this book is not about slandering my enemies in uniform. It is about for once making public the atrocious acts that my so-called partners in law enforcement have committed as public servants.
This story is not intended to make the reader believe that the former Nevada Department of Prison's was totally corrupt. There has been many a good and dedicated officer that had donned this uniform. But, this story which is true without doubt is intended to educate the reader that there is a massive difference between a Corrections Officer and a prison guard. They have both worn the same uniform and badge.
I have dedicated this book (2004) to the Director, Nevada Department of Corrections Ms. Jackie Crawford. Prior to her leadership, my many years of experience and wisdom had me completely convinced there was absolutely no hope of this department ever becoming a creditable agency. She has accomplished the impossible.
In a nutshell, Ms. Crawford has allowed no one to blame on their boots the faults that their feet has created. As officers, where we have been wrong without malicious intent, you've given us the opportunity to change. Where we have been right, you've stood by us lessening the heartache for having honor and integrity.
