I take this opportunity to introduce my translation services and myself to you.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, I received a B.A. from Pontifícia Universidade Católica in English Language and Literature. In 1992, I traveled to the United States to participate in a training internship program at an American translation company. The two-year training program provided me with a wealth of knowledge and paved the way for my career as an Accredited Translator.
In addition to my training, my previous experience also includes teaching English as a Second Language for top executives in multinational companies and working as a freelance translator/interpreter for various Brazilian firms.
Currently, I do translations, editing and proofreading for major corporations such as Microsoft, IBM, American Express, and Internet-related companies. I also provide translation for the major airline carriers and cruise lines. Therefore, my areas of expertise fall in the computing, web pages, marketing, international business and culinary categories. Interpretation and cross-cultural consultation are services in addition to what I provide.
I am accredited by the American Translators Association, and an active member of the Portuguese Language Division of the ATA, the New York Circle of Translators and the New England Translators’ Association.
As Senior Portuguese in-house Translator and a Portuguese Department Manager Assistant in a publishing company for 6 years, I had the opportunity to apply my linguistic knowledge to achieve the highest quality in translations. This requires my ability as a translator to transcend semantics and translate for sense and coherence without compromising accuracy.
