Me, Myself, and I (and a few others!):
My name is Lisa. I was born in Alabama. I moved to California in 1980 to start my career in Medical Transcription. I was helping run a very successful Transcription Service with 3 other independent contractors by the age of 26. I am now mentoring students who wish to take the CMT exam as my health became terminal in 1995. I returned home to Alabama to be near my family for treatment. I am working on learning voice recognition while being disabled in hopes to someday return to the transcription field in a more "hands on" (VOICE ON?) capacity. In 1995 I was told I had 2-5 years; but guess what? It's MARCH 2008 now!! I'm 52 years old and was living with a very very SPECIAL little FUR-BABY (Ginger Kitty) who was 18 years old. Unfortunately her vet gave her some medicine (BAYTRIL) that made her blind in 12/2003. She was my VIP and *MUSE* in life, and was so courageous!! She has been with me since I found her barely alive one day in Modesto, CA. She was quite the "PRINCESS"! (Her picture is easy to see! She was a total character at times too!) (See important info at page bottom). I was basically a "home hermit"due to my immune system, but now I get out a LOT more, and when I do, it's in that pretty littleV-8 Chevy you will also see on this site. (A Chevelle is also pictured that is a BIG BLOCK) so it gets quite a bit of attention TOO! My father had Alzheimer's and thus I'm keeping this car! It's a "collector's item" & now is registered as a "vintage" auto. (I also have a VERY special person in my life now, someone who "walks the walk and talks the talk FINALLY"!) I write to our lawmakers to keep our environment as sound as possible; but my passion is supporting organizations who help house and treat animals who have been abused or need what little money I can give to keep our endangered species from becoming extinct. My father just passed away 11/09/2005.

Things that interest me are: I've just finished reading "Women Who Run With Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. I wish all women (and men who wish to KNOW their women) to read this to gain insight into the REAL INSTINCTS that need to be *ignited*. It truly touches you, not just your SOUL, but down to the marrow of your bones! Another is "Walking on the Wind (Cherokee Teachings for Harmony and Balance)".by Michael Garrett. I love motorcycles & rode my own to Sturgis in 1989; have a 1983 El Camino I am restoring (see below). Love those V8's and V-twins! My favorite musician is/was Stevie Ray Vaughan -- an amazing man who was just coming into his own when he left way too early from us. My favorite rock band is Aerosmith (3 decades and still going!). I play guitar (not well but I try), and love my friends. I have had 3 very close friends for over 20 years. 2 live in California; 1 in Michigan. I like NASCAR Winston Cup, NFL Football (Raider Fan from way back because of the "Snake") and of course, I am a "CRIMSON TIDE" fan to the core... ROLL TIDE, ROLL!

Links that I frequent are:
I will add my Medical Transcription links soon. If you wish to go there, you will have to join one of them, THE BEST is "MT DAILY" where many young "newbies" can get help without being trashed or talked down to if they ask the same question twice!

Miss Ginger Marie Kitty left for the *RAINBOW BRIDGE* on 08/08/2005 (she was 18 years old). I have a hole in my heart as big & wide as the GRAND CANYON. I tattooed her on my left thigh so she will always be "with" me. I have 3 tatts that mean very much 2 me for various reasons. The right thigh is an angel with wings and a halo in a blue flowing dress, and my chest has an oriental-type drawing that I did to cover the scars of my ports where I received chemo as well as antibiotics when I got a Staph. infection in my neck that ate away C2-6 of my spine with cadaver bone and bone from my hip placed with 2 plates and screws to hold this in place. I plan on more tattoos of Ginger as time goes on as well as each scar to be covered with something that will represent me as a person (the redheaded, green-eyed, Irish-Cherokee girl/woman that I am!)
