Born and educated in New York City, Barbara Field now resides in the Seattle, Washington area. Her fascination with nature and diverse cultures encourages her to discover new sights and sounds in near and faraway places. These impressions are reflected in her creative designs and compositions. She is also a highly trained and experienced educator and art specialist with an active history of working with children aged five through eighteen.

Master of Education, the University of Washington and the University of Puget Sound. The emphasis was on curriculum development and administration. Special projects included the creation of in-depth units interpreting traditional Japanese story characters through origami creations, utilizing hand-developed papers and patterns.
