Mocha was shown as a yearling. Doing very well in halter. She received the High Point halter mare for
the NEMQHA shows in 2001. Erica also used her for a colt-to-maturity project horse and again was
successful. Unfortunately after receiving the first vaccination for West Nile and not having the chance to
get completely immunized, she contracted West Nile. She began exhibiting signs on the first day
of the State 4-H horse show in Glasgow, September of 2002. With great sorrow she had ended her show
career much too early but fortunately she survived and will hopefully now make a good broodmare. We did show her lightly
at some open shows this year (2003) and she did receive another reserve grand in halter and always places in the top
but she is now too far behind to show in performance. She had too much time off and we began to focus on another mare
during that time. Mocha has an excellent temperment, conformation, and is drop dead gorgeous. We love her
and she will remain with us, just will be in early retirement so to speak.
**UPDATE: We had room in our trailer to haul her to a show July 17 & 18, 2004 due to one of our other show
horses being injured. Although unconditioned and in foal, she received reserve grand in halter! Way to
go momma Mocha!!
