field trip to Arrowhead Orchard September 29, 2000
I have been in the business of caring for children
since 1977. From the time I was a child I had a desire to teach and a love
of children. I was the neighborhood teen sitter in my home town of Indianapolis,
IN. I started my adult career of caring for children in a group child care
center when I was fresh out of high school. I was a part time college student
and worked in group child care for five years.
In 1982, I opened Donna Beals Family Child Care
Center a Licensed in-home Family Child Care Center in Wisconsin.
My child care center is also known as "Donna's School."
My husband Mark and I have five children.
Brooke, Jessica, Beth, Thomas and Carrisa.

My philosophy
is that children will learn, grow, and develop on their own individual time
table. It is my goal as their teacher to enrich the environment to maximize
development of each child. My in home center is a natural learning environment
rich with opportunity. In my child care center I provide stimulating educational
experiences and activities for cognitive, social, emotional, gross and fine
motor development as well as personal hygiene and promoting self-help skills.
Nutritious snacks and meals are offered. Most importantly for the children
and families I serve I offer security and love.
