SHOW RUN COMPLETE

2007 - 2008 SEASON

I DO! I DO!

Bellevue Little Theatre is proud to announce the substitution of the touching and endearing musical "I Do! I Do!" for the second production of the 39th season. This musical, opening Nov. 2, running for three week-ends, and closing Nov. 18, chronicles a fifty year marriage, and has been updated to cover the period from the 1950s to the early 21st century.

Veteran performers Jim McKain and Julie Enersen will appear in "I Do, I Do", recreating the roles created on broadway by Mary Martin and Robert Preston. McKain will also serve as stage director. Linda Shirck will be musical director, and Bette Swanson is producer.

Kay Clark will play second keyboard; Jane Keller will be stage manager. Other technical personnel are Liz Kendall, lighting designer; Jeff Lively, sound designer; Jack Hofston, set designer and builder; Julie Gullickson, costumer; Anna Peace, props mistress; Maggie Opal, lighting technician; Melissa Linn is sound technician.

"I Do! I Do!" presents an intimate and nostalgic look at a marriage, and was created by Harvey Schimdt and Tom Jones , the authors of "The Fantastics". It is based on the straight play "The Foreposter". We follow Michael and Ages from their wedding day until the day they leave their family home to a pair of newlyweds. We watch them as they confront wedding night jitters, raise a family, negotiate mid-life crises, quarrel, separate, reconcile, and grow old together. The couple travels gracefully, with the assistance of a tuneful, charming musical score, including the standard "My Cup Runneth Over".
