About Me
I was born in Detroit, Michigan, grew up in Windsor, Ontario, CANADA and in 1983 moved to the USA. I have lived off and on in San Antonio, Texas since 1983 with moves to Olympia, Washington and Houston, Texas. I am in San Antonio now and should be for good, as it has been good for me here both personally and professionally.

My Online Life
I usually surf the net everyday but lately working so much I haven't been on as regular as normal.
I visit quite a few sites, mainly Powerlifting sites with my main ones are Texas Powerlifting Scene, SeguinFitness, USPF and WABDL.
I also go to Amazon.com, Thunderdvd.com and cduniverse.com, etc.

My Interests
I won 2 World Championships in 2000 having won the WABDL World's in Reno, Nevada bench pressing 363.7 lbs. weighing 148 lbs, and won the WPL World's in Corpus Christi, Texas bench pressing 358.25 lbs. weighing 147 lbs, setting a new American record, a new state record and a World record in the 45-49 yr. old age group in the 148 lb. class.
I am a movie buff, having movies both on dvd and vhs, I enjoy all types, including being a Disney nut.
I love shooting pool and hanging out with friends.
I am also a USPF and WABDL national referee, so when I am not competing I am still involved in the sport.
The year 2000 was probably one of my best competition years ever, as I competed in 8 contests and won them all, setting new World, American and State records along the way.
Last year, 2001, I made the jump to the 165 lb class and started off the year at the USPF State Championships by breaking the old state record by 60 lbs. I went to the WABDL Nationals in Birmingham, Alabama and benched 396.7 lbs weighing 160 lbs, which was a personal record. I also was the Best Lightweight Master Bencher of the contest, the 1st time I have ever won a Best Lifter award in WABDL. I finished the year upping my USPF state record to 374 lbs. The 396.7 lbs gave me a ranking for the year of #6 in the Masters and #49 in the Open bench. I also was #3 in the 148 lb Masters bench.
The year 2002 is rolling along great so far as I became a National judge in both USPF and WABDL, up from state judge, which I am very proud of. Recently at the USPF South Texas Championships I set a new American and state record by benching 402.2 lbs and just missing 407.7 lbs. I also was Best Master bencher of the meet for the 6th straight meet. I feel I have alot more in me and plan to show it at the WABDL Nationals in Houston, Texas and the WABDL World Championships in Reno, Nevada later in the year.
I am a kid at heart as I love to go to Sea World of Texas and Fiesta Texas here at home.
I enjoy rock, alternative, r&b, raggae and classic rock music.

My Thanks To Those Who Support Me Throughout The Year
I want to thank those who supported me throught the year as without all of these people I could not have achieved what I did this year.
1st of all to Joe Castillo, Jr. owner of the best gym in San Antonio, Texas, Joe's Gym. He has been there with encouragement and support for me and the whole team the Bench Express. Next to my partners at the gym, Ed Wilkinson(198/220 lb Submaster Bench Press Champion), Johnny Campbell(198/220 lb Submaster Bench Press Champion), Gabe Gutierrez(181/198 lb Bench Press Champion) and Adam Rodriguez(198 lb Junior Bench Press Champion), as these men not only help me with encouragement and support but they are there on Saturdays helping me prepare for all my competitions. I couldn't do it without them. And the Houston Connection, Bob Garza(Masters Bench Press Champion), Paul 'Tiny' Meeker(Open 275lb World Bench Press Champion) and John Stewart(275 lb Submaster World Bench Press Champion), these men helped me when I used to live in Houston, now they give me support and advise and are always there for me when I need them.
Also a big thanks to Tiny for the great liftoffs and help with the shirt at Reno, and to Ed and Johnny with help with the shirt and great liftoffs at Corpus Christi.
Johnny, I have to thank you again for helping me with my shirt and the press calls, because without you and Adam's great liftoffs I wouldn't be in the 400 lb club now.
Last but not least to Ray Trevino and all the folks at Joe's Gym and WorldCom for the support and encouragement right to the end, and for my supervisor, Silvia and manager, Fred for giving me the time off to be able to compete.
Thanks to all of you,
I love you all
