Lightning Links

Congratulations. You are this site's hit number AOL Counter since its debut in June 2, 1998.

You must go to one or more of the sites below. They are sorted in alphabetical order. This saves me the trouble of deciding which sites to mention first. Am I not clever and effective? More links will come in the future (as always). The links all reflect my interests and standards of Web site quality. If a site start to suck, its address changes, it disappears, or whatever, I will try my best to update this page accordingly. If you know of any sites that I might want to add to this page or wish to suggest your own, my e-mailbox is at the bottom of this page.

Aesop's Fables AWESOME site! More than 600 fables, as well as more than 100 Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and a couple of Santa Claus stories by L. Frank Baum (the author of The Wizard of Oz).

CamWorld My favorite weblog. If you don't know what that is, see for yourself. I like his links and the fact that he uses a Macintosh.

ChungKuo.org No, it's not the book. It's an awesome BBS where you can use Telnet (I recommend Better Telnet if you use a Mac, even though it's not Carbon) to play online games, particularly roguelikes and Dungeons & Dragons, for free. The games are worth more than the price of admission!

NEW! Cockeyed.com What happens when a dot.com victim has some web space, a camera, and way too much free time? This.

Dummes Weibchen My friend Chris runs a fun site that I should contribute to much more often. Check out our [his] assorted reviews and insights. If you loved Seanbaby.com and Spoony, Inc., you'll hate this.

eBay While I hate anything popular, I can't help but love this "online marketplace". If there is something, ANYTHING that used to be in stores but you can't find anymore, look for it there. Chances are that you could be its winning bidder for only $4.72, with the $3.00 shipping charge.

NEW! FuckedCompany.com A celebration of the richly deserved death of the dot.com economy. Hey, AOL, before you censor this site, I didn't think up of that name, okay?

Gareth Jones Gareth is a cool first name. And his site is equally cool, with tons of information and articles on HyperCard, the Apple IIGS (an American classic), and Macs in general. He also has his own Latin page and some stuff on ESL (English as a Second Language).

The HAL 9000 Simulator The power-mad computer from Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey is forever immortalized in this awesome Web site. Minus the homicidal tendencies. Be sure to download the desktop simulator! HTML Goodies The best site to learn Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). It is where I learned to make the red NEW! indicator, among other things. Great for beginners and experts.

Low End Mac If your Mac isn't at least a G4, then you must go to this site. One of the greatest joys of owning an "old" Macintosh is maximizing its potential.

MrBarrett.com Cam's twin brother has an unidentical but equally entertaining weblog.

Mr. Cranky There aren't many movies out there that are capable of escaping his bitter and humorous scrutiny.

Prehensile Tales The creative exploits of the Cocky Bastard himself, John Halcyon Styn. As funny as it is offensive (to some people).

Project Gutenberg If you love to read and don't mind having your computer screen act as a hardcover novel (a "Power-Book" of sorts), then you owe it to yourself to go to this site. Most literary classics are no longer copyrighted. You can find, download, and read many of them from this non-profit site.

Seanbaby.com One of the greatest sites I've ever seen in my life. It's also incredibly funny. If you grew up the same way that I did (on Nintendo, comic books, and bad 80's cartoons), then you're likely to derive the same pleasures that I did from Seanbaby.

NEW! Sexy Losers Funny, funny, FUNNY weekly e-comic strip that is all about something that rhymes with "flex". And it's Manga! Or at least tries to be.

Spoony, Inc. Those bastards ripped Dummes Weibchen off. Well, actually, it was the other way around, but it's still a fun enough site to be included here.

Stick Death Enter a sick, twisted, and hilarious world where lots of stick people die bloody deaths. Despite the lazy artwork (come on. Stick people!), the animation is surprisingly good.

Tolkien Crackpot Theories A very funny site for The Lord of the Rings fans, by Tolkien fans. The ones from rec.arts.books.tolkien, to be exact. The last one (#25) is my favorite.

Testosterone Magazine You know that a bodybuilding magazine is "Dangerously Hardcore" when it actually promotes steroid usage. I'm linking to it just because I enjoy its writers' work immensely, even if many of the articles are baltant advertisements for barely legal supplements--sort of like the crappy MuscleMag International, but I don't have to pay $6 for T-mag.com. The print mag is a little skimpy but worth a look for those who are bored with Flex.

NEW! X-Entertainment It's not Seanbaby.com, but it's still funny.

That's it for now. If this page failed to interest you in anything, you can go to a random site without a second thought.
