jwha starter dog nut
Starter Dog Nut— its always a good idea, if you happen to have the pulley nut in your hand, to machine the two 'ears' off it - (which were put there for a starter handle on the big Austin Sedans - but which can't be used on a Healey)

I use a wrench that WW Grainger sells.  I think they are called Iron workers wrenchs. Proto # 2627SW Size is 1-11/16" Maybe a good club tool to purchase. It is a tuff wrench.

With the ears milled off you can get this wrench in without raising the engine a lot.
