This Just In:

So much has been happening with The Go-Go's lately that let's just get to it!!!

First off, congradulations to the one and only DeDe Kelez of Beatnik Beat fame for landing the job of a lifetime: Running the official Go-Go's Webpage. For the latest on what is happening on the band, just click on http://www.gogos.com . There is even a message board where fans can communicate with each other but personally, I love the confessional section. There is also great graphics, links, and samples of the new stuff from the upcoming album, God Bless The Go-Go's. I would like to take this time right now and commend DeDe on a job well done. Way to go my friend.

Speaking of the album, I managed to get an advanced copy of the album, thanks to Edge LA and I must say, this album is incredible!  My favorite tracks are "Here You Are", "Stuck In My Car", "La La Land", "Daisy Chain"  and "Kissing Asphalt". Those are just my personal favorites but every song on this record is great and the Go-Go's have never sound tighter than they do on this album.  It was also great hearing Charlotte playing the piano on "Talking Myself Down" which I read was co-written by Bangle Susanna Hoffs.  When I do get the CD version of the album, I will let everyone know who else appears on the record. Of course, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day sings and plays on the single "Unforgiven".

Speaking of "Unforgiven",  it is being added to radio playlists at a rapid pace but in some cities, like here in Chicago, it is still trying to get played. If you are not hearing it on your radio dial, call and e-mail your favorite radio station and tell them "I want to hear "Unforgiven"!!!!"  By the way, Sonicnet.com reported that the band shot the video for "Unforgiven" in the basement of an old Synagoge in New York City. Cannot wait to finally see it.

The Go-Go's seem to be all over these days. They spent most of the month of March visiting radio stations around the country promoting the new album.  If you read the Charlotte News Page, you know that they played a spring break show in Florida which according to fan Dave Turney who was lucky enough to attend the show it was good time for him and his friends. Check for many pictures from the concert on all pages of the website.

On Thursday, March 29th, it was one busy day for The Go-Go's. They first did a total kick ass performance on "Late Night With David Letterman" and then they joined other celebrities like Ricky Martin, Elton John, Billy Joel, Vince Gill, Carly Simon, David Crosby, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Paul Simon, Matthew Sweet, Darious Rucker of Hootie and The Blowfish, Aimee Mann and Michael Penn, Evan and Jaron, and Wilson Phillips just to name a few, for a Tribute to the one and only Brian Wilson.  The band did versions of "Little Honda" and "Surf City" which was done Go-Go style. They changed the "two girls for every boy" to "two boys for every girl"! I loved that . For those of you who were unable to attend the event, it will be broadcasted on TNT on July 4th. I am really looking forward to seeing that.

Starting May 10th, five days before the release of the album, the Go-Go's will begin a television blitz which will begin on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno".  The other appearances are as follows:

Good Morning America-May 14th
Album release-May 15th
Rosie O'Donnell-May 15th
Late Night with Conan O'Brian-May 15th
Howard Stern Show-May 16th
WNBA Instore appearance in NYC-May 17th
The Today Show-May 18th

Last but not least, on May 6th, the Go-Go's will be partaking in very special concert on May 6th at the Verizon Ampitheater in Irvine, CA. It is called FAN NATION and after the Go-Go's are done playing a set, they will be onhand afterwards to sign autographs for fans!  Other bands participating are the Counting Crows, the Wallflowers, Third Eye Blind and Uncle Kracker.  Tickets go on sale this Saturday.

Old News:
If you have already checked out the Charlotte News Page, then you already know about the new Go-Go's album, "God Bless The Go-Go's" (love that title!) due out on May 15th on Beyond Music Records and its first single "Unforgiven" co-written by Charlotte, Jane and Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day due out on March 20th. Looking forward to that, of course and to hear what the new songs sound like on record. Look for tv appearance on SNL, Letterman, and many other shows. You can also catch vintage Go-Go's from the early 80's on "URGH! A MUSIC WAR" on the Sundance Channel.

Keep Checking here for updates.
