This Just In:
I know it has been awhile since I have updated the page but my new job has kept me busy but with all the Go-Go activity that has been happening lately, I decided it was time to do an update. So here it goes....

It was great to turn on my radio a few weeks back to hear Charlotte and Jane talk to Mancow on "Mancow's Morning Madhouse" three weeks ago on Q101. I am not the biggest Mancow fan but it was a crazy interview nevertheless. Just wish he would of given Charlotte some more airtime but it is always great hearing Charlotte and Jane bounce off each other. A few hours later, I heard them on 94.7 the zone talking to Steve Fisher. They were even nice enough to say hi to his wife whom he mentioned was a Go-Go's fan. I was just getting out of work when the WXRT interview came on so I missed that one but it was great turning on my car radio and blasting "Unforgiven".  Thanks to Charlotte and Jane for wrapping up their radio promotion tour here in Chicago.

A few days before coming to Chicago, a party was thrown in Nashville for Jane and Charlotte
for writing their first number one hit with Keith Urban, "But For The Grace Of God".  Charlotte also told LAUNCH.Com that Keith sent her and Jane a dozen roses each thanking them for getting the song to number one.  Cool touch, Keith!

The Go-Go's have been very busy as of late. They did a concert in Florida which was attended by fan Dave Turney, who took the above picture, had a great time and there will be more pictures, if possible from that show.

Speaking of shows, check out the Go-Go's News page for a wrap-up on the Brian Wilson Tribute Concert that took place last Thursday night.  A few hours before, The Go-Go's were on "Late Night With David Letterman" and did a kick ass job on "Unforgiven".  Charlotte's guitar playing was great as usual but fans might have noticed her new look. The classic blond
hair that all of us are used to seeing is gone.  It has now been replaced by new cool brown hairstyle which I personally think it looks great.  From what I have been reading on the Twisted and Jaded Board, others think it looks great!

Well, I couldn't wait. When I heard that some songs from the new album were already available on Napster, I went ahead and downloaded the songs. One of my favorites is "La La Land" where the guitar riff reminds me so much of Redd Kross!  It totally rocks!!

See the Go-Go's News Page for my review of the other new songs.

On April 20th, Spin.com will broadcast an online interview with Charlotte and Jane on the set of the new Go-Go's video for "Unforgiven".  Should be a good one.

Meanwhile, other related Charlotte News, husband Jeff McDonald is still hard at work producing the Lisa Marr-Kim Shattuck side project, The Beards but if you  go onto www.reddkross.com you can check out a new feature called "Jeff McDonald Art House" which is video from his own personal collection.  There might even be a Charlotte sighting on there but you never know.  There is also some previews of  the Redd Kross movie "Bitchin' Ass" which you might find interesting.

Charlotte is going to be one busy lady with all the promoting of the new Go-Go's album "God Bless The Go-Go's. There will be all kinds of updates here and on The Go-Go's News Page so check it out!

Old News
First off, congradulations to both Charlotte and Jane for co-writing their first number one song ever!  The song, "But For The Grace of God" by Keith Urban (who also co-wrote the song), is not only number one on the Country Singles Chart and on the Canadian Country Singles Chart as well.  All I can say is way to go girls.

The new Go-Go's Album will be called "God Bless The Go-Go's" (I love that title!) and it will be released on May 15th. The first single "Unforgiven" will be released on March 20th Beyond Music Records.  Charlotte and Jane co-wrote the song with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day who also plays and sings back-up as well. This should be a very cool and interesting colloboration.  According to the "Beatnik Beat" website, other collaborators and players on the album include Bangle Susanna Hoffs, and former that dog member Anna Wronoker. The band will also be making appearances on Saturday Night Live and Late Night with David Letterman. If I hear of any other TV appearances, I will let you know.

Speaking of Anna, she, Charlotte, Jeff and Steve will be releasing Ze Malibu Kidz album in the next few months. According to the ReddKross.net webesite, a video for the song "I won't Forget You" has been made into video which features Jeff, Steve, Anna and Jeff & Charlotte's daughter Astrid on drums. To see still and to get a sample of what Ze Malibu Kidz sound like, go to website listed above.

This is from the Redd Kross Message Board.  Charlotte has written a song for Alison Anders' next movie which of course does feature Jeff and Steve who also reunite for a cover of an old Poppy Family song, "Where Evil Grows" on the soundtrack as well. The film, "Things Behind The Sun" will be released sometime before the end of the year.  The song Charlotte wrote will be performed by Jeff, J. Mascis (formally of Dinosaur Jr.) and singer Kristin Vigard. This came from Alison Anders herself and she calls it the best movie soundtrack of any of her movies. Can't wait to see the movie and hear the soundtrack.

This is from Daryl, a fan from Los Angeles, had a chance to catch The Go-Go's in concert when they played in Las Vegas back in January.  Afterwards, he had the chance to speak to Charlotte herself! They discussed many things including a collaboration with Lisa Marr formerly of Buck and Kim Shattuck of the Muffs. Apparently, Jeff is producing the project and Charlotte mentioned that she will be assisting on guitar and backing vocals.  This weekend, Darryl and a few other T&J posters went to see the Lisa Marr Experiment and he had a chance to talk to Lisa. She said the album is progressing very well and it will hopefully be done by the end of March. She also revealed that Jeff and Charlotte did sing back-ups and the last two tracks the band Buck recorded together and will be released on compilation albums. Darryl told me that he would let me know what the albums are and then you will read about it here. The name of the band is the Beards. Kim Plays guitar and sings, Lisa plays bass and sings and Sherri Solinger plays drums. This should be great! I would like to thank Darryl for this information.

BTW, thanks to all the Twisted and Jaded fans for their great reviews of The Go-Go's in Las Vegas!  Made me wish I was there. I enjoyed seeing them there in 1999.

Speaking of Redd Kross, I do have some news on them.  The movie that Jeff and Steve are working on is tentively titled "Bitchin' Ass". There is no exact release date but the best place to check for one is REDDKROSS.COM, the official Redd Kross Website which will be launched this spring
