Brookhaven College is a member of the Dallas County Community College District . It has an enrollment of 7000 and is located just north of Dallas, in Farmers Branch, Texas.
The Brookhaven Bears Baseball program is an NJCAA Division 1 member, playing in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.
Conference members include: Collin County CC, Hill College, McLennon CC, North Central Texas CC, Grayson County, Vernon Regional JC, Temple JC, and Ranger JC.
Brookhaven Bear Field is located on-campus and features an excellent playing surface of clay, Diamond-Pro turface and Tiff/Texturf-10. The field is surrounded by rolling hills and features sunken dugouts with four bullpens and two hitting tunnels. Brookhaven also has excellent indoor facilities including mounds and tunnels.
The coaching staff is headed up by Coach Denny Dixon. A professional scout with the Tamp Bay Devil Rays and noted pitching coach. Coach Dixon played college ball at Dallas Baptist University and finished his schooling at Texas A&M. He has been coaching at Brookhaven for 11 years and has posted only one losing season. Coach Dixon owns a lifetime winning percentage of .672. During Coach Dixon's tenure Brookhaven has achieved it's highest national ranking of 16 in 1992 after a 37 win season and advanced to the Regional Tournament in '98. Dixon has coached AABC Connie Mack Baseball teams for 16 years winning two national championships.
Coach Dixon is assisted by Corey Thornton. Coach Thornton is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University. He played college ball for Paris Junior College and SFA. Thornton came to Brookhaven in 1995. His duties include: infield and batting coach. Brookhaven has posted nationally ranked offensive stats, both team and individual since Thornton's arrival.
