The History of the Bible class,
part of the Academy of Christian Studies, where we will investigate the archeology and history of the
bible as we move through history. Starting at Joshua's invasion of
Jericho, we will look at ancient manuscripts, scrolls, papyri, illuminated
manuscripts and printed bibles up to the modern era. This includes a trip
to the Bridwell Library at the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist
University. To facilitate the class I
will include links to various subjects covered in the course.
Here are the hyperlinks to the pages on this web site for hundreds of
links in the following categories:

Each week we will be viewing a program of the documentary Testament:
the Bible and History, starting with the second episode which starts at the
city of Jericho. This documentary is an even handed approach at telling
the story of how the bible was put together and where. You will see
Jericho, Jerusalem, Constantinople, Antioch, Megiddo, Rome, Aachen, London,
Nicea, Ravenna, Split, Lyon, Ireland, Northumbria, Wittenburg and you will see
the books, the Lindesfarne Gospels, the Book of Kells, the Codex Siniaticus,
Codex Amiatinus, Complutensian Polyglot, Bomberg Polyglot, Gutenberg, Tyndale
and the King James Bibles.

This list of links includes sites with products that are
for sale, I do not endorse any product. I have made their sites
available for the biblical, and artistic information contained in their sites.
Buyer beware!
Also look at the URL and note where the information is
coming from. I noticed in many sites on the bible, people start out with
a scholarly work and then turned the site into a political manifesto.
Watch out for this type of activity on any site you visit on the web!
Watch out for any bias from any individual or organization.
