The Pepper Bible
These are pages from The Pepper
Gospels Copyright James G. Pepper 2005.
Some of these pages were placed on display at the Biblical Arts Museum in Dallas
Texas in March and April of 2005. Each chapter is written in a distinct
calligraphic style. this is just a sample of what is found in My
Gospels. The gospels contain 310 illuminated pages, 550 pages in all and
most of the remaining pages are decorated. Each chapter is unique and they follow the general theme of
each Gospel, Luke is a Celtic manuscript, while John is made up of French
Styles. Matthew is mainly English and Northern European while Mark spans
the entire history of Bible manuscript illumination from early papyri to today.
So when you look at these pages try to imagine the entire chapter written in
these forms.
