INTERLINEAR POLYGLOT

The Pepper Bible

This is the first page of the my Interlinear Polyglot of the Passion of Christ, John Chapters 18 and 19 in Greek, English and Latin, Interlinear, which means the text lines up with each other as best as I could match it up.  I did not cut it up, its word for word correct as written , but since the Greek and the Latin arrange their sentences differently you will find pages where the text is all bunched up.  And I did find that in some sentences the KJV follows the Latin vulgate instead of the Greek, but usually it followed the Greek.

The Polyglot is a text that is written in multiple languages on the same page.  The greatest of these was Origen's Hexapla which Jerome used to make the Gospels, it contained the Gospels in 6 different Greek translations, hence the word Hexapla. I translated the Complutensian Polyglot made in Accala Spain from 1514-1517 and took the Latin Vulgate and the Greek text Textus Receptus and placed them interlinear on the page with the English Authorized or KJV.

I noticed that some translations of the Complutensian Polyglot actually do not correspond with the text in the actual book and I have to ask has anyone else noticed this, or are we assuming that nobody will look it up?

I then wrote a concordance to it which has references to Old Testament passages which have significance to the Latin and the Greek words used in the translation, and these words are often not translated into English, so some of these references are not found in modern English Bibles but they have been there all along.  The result is a collection of reference that broaden the scope of the prophesies found in the Old Testament, and it only deepened my understanding and it showed that every little thing that happened was foretold and has significance.
