Pack 31
Bridgewater

Welcome New Wolf Cubs

The Pack would like to welcome our new Wolfs. Your days of Seek, Discover and Share are now behind you and should be second nature. As new Wolf Cubs you have many more adventures and things to learn. I suggest you pick up your new Wolf book and look it over during your summer vacation. Read over the requirements for Bobcat with your parents. This will give you a good jump on next year.
You also need a Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader. These may be your parents who are willing to open up your home to a den of boys and with the help of training hold den meetings were you do some of the neat stuff in the Wolf Book. If your parents are willing to help, have them call me at 697-3560.
If you or your parents have any questions about the next 4 years of Cub Scouts, you can ask me or any one of the Pack Den Leaders of Committee Members at the cook out or call any time.
Need some starter questions to break the ice:
Where do I get a uniform?
How long is a den meeting?
How do I get trained?
Can I have your Job as Cub Master?

The average Chocolate Bar has 8 insect legs in it. Think twice before you go to the candy store this summer.

New Summer Time Activity

This summer the committee has decided to go to the Roger Williams Zoo for our Summertime Activity. We can book at a group rate which will be around $4.50 for 13 and older and around $3.00 for children. If you bring a bag lunch, this can be a very inexpensive family activity. Oh yah, parking is free.
If you have never been to Roger Williams Zoo, you are in for a real treat. The exhibits are like you have never seen before. The areas are set up to as closely resemble the natural habitat of each species and still be able to survive the New England winters.
The directions are simple, I-95 south to exit 17 (Elmwood Ave), left at light, Park entrance is 1/2 block on right.
The Date for this event is
August 8th. You must be signed up and paid up in full by July 24th to get the group rate. Please see me or your Den Leader for sign up.

Calendar Changes
The Fishing Derby on July 18th will now be the Family Bike Ride (see article below). There will not be an activity on August 15th

Family Bike Ride
Location: Myles Standish Forest
Date: July 18th, 1999
Time: The car pool will leave Campus Plaza Dunkin Doughnuts at 10:05am and meet behind Forest Headquarters at 11:00

The Ride is Approximately 7mi with a lunch and swim break at the 4 mile mark.
This is a family event and is free. The ride is not difficult. My 5 year old has an easier time than I do. Things to bring are:
Your bike and helmet
Your lunch
Your bathing suit
Your mom or dad or whole family
Sun screen
Cub scout hat
A jacket in case it does get cold or rainy
A small back pack or bike bag for all your stuff
A water bottle.

Just a Reminder

Next April I will be crossing over to the troop and giving up my position as Cub Master. The Pack needs someone to fill this position. It would be best if I could work with this person from now till then to get the familiar with running a Pack meeting. Please consider this rewarding opportunity and contact me A.S.A.P.
