Phase 4: Reassembly
Phase Four
Reassembly
2005 - 2006
As the larger parts are finally prepared for reassembly, the Ontos slowly begins to take shape.  Fine tuning of parts and accessories is accomplished to insure a proper reassembly.

Note: The Allison made XT90 transmission was rebuilt by a local transmission shop.  Parts required fabrication since this transmission has been out of active service for over 30 years.

Left Image: The assembled power pac.  This photo was taken following removal after the initial start up and operation.  The pac was removed to do necessary adjustments and to closely inspect the engine and transmission to detect any leaks.

The first operation of the vehicle was successfully accomplished in January 2006 after being non-operational since 1970.

Patton Volunteer mechanic, Jeff Berry closely checks the wiring before lowering the pac back into the engine compartment.
