Honeymoon Pics
December 3 - December 18, 1999
We had such a great time on our honeymoon.  We went to Fiji first, for a week.  The flight to Fiji was 11 hours, and not as bad as we expected.  We crossed the international dateline during the flight, missing our one week anniversary!

Fiji was very beautiful, and the resort's accomodations were amazing.  It did rain for the last 3 or 4 days we were there, however.  We were undeterred by the rain, being native Oregonians, and enjoyed ourselves anyway.

From Fiji we took a 3 hour flight (twice, it's a long story) to Rarotonga, the main island of the Cook Islands.  From there we flew a twin-prop plane to the teeny lagoon island of Aitutaki.  This lagoon had the most beautiful blue and green water we've ever seen, or probably ever will see again.  And the snorkelling there was out of this world.  We even got to walk all the way across Honeymoon Island!

After 3 days in Aitutaki we flew back to Rarontonga to finish out our remaining 5 days on the main island.  Most of the pictures here will be from the Cook Islands only, since our camara broke in Fiji and we had to buy a new one when at the Duty Free shop when we left Fiji.

We hope you enjoy the pictures, we enjoy sharing them with you!
We rented this mo-ped to scoot around the largest island in Aitutaki - it took about an hour.

This is the beachfront at the resort we stayed at on the lagoon island of Aitutaki.  The palms all had hammocks between them - talk about an escape from reality.
