Genealogy in the Genes: Butler

Elmeron E. Butler was born abt. 02 Dec 1848 in North Hero, Grand Isle, Vermont, the son of Lorenzo Butler (b. 1807 North Hero, Grand Isle, VT and d. 1883 in Hector, Renville, MN) and Eliza Darrow (b. abt. 1809 in Vermont). He married Bessie B. Morrill 08 Nov 1868 in Elgin, Kane, IL. He is shown in the 1880 census living in Blackberry Sation, Kane County, Illinois and working as a "teamster". He died 22 April 1881 at a young age - 31 years, 5 months, 20 days - and left a widow, Bessie, and three young children: Grace Emma, Mae E., and Fred Elmeron. Elmeron is buried in the Blackberry Cemetery, Elburn, Kane County, Illinois. It is said that he was a Civil War veteran, but we have not been able to find records to prove that yet. And that is about all that we know of him - for now.
