Here is what my gggrandmother. Margaret Leeder (WIFFIN) PINEGER said in her diary just before leaving Barnham Broom forever:
"Sept 28/56 (1856) Attended BB church for the last time during our residence in that parish and where the events connected with that sacred ediface came across my mind. I could not refrain a tear_it was there I was first permitted to enjoy the inestimable priviledge of attending the Lord's Supper_ it was there my beloved sister now a glorified saint in heaven found great consolation and finally was interred in the pretty churchyard where her remains await the resurrection of the just. Oh may I be one of that happy number."
Her sister, Harriette Jane WIFFIN, b. 04 September 1831, Barnham Broom, d. (according to diary) 27 February 1853 and supposedly is buried there in the Barnham Broom churchyard.
The Wiffin family sailed to America in 1857, arriving in NYC on 07 July 1857 after 8 weeks at sea. They settled in Garden Prairie, Boone County, Illinois on 12 July 1857.
