When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
 From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times
You did some things
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand
And share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

Tears In Heaven (Eric Clapton)

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
 Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
 I must be strong and carry on,
 'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven.

 Would you hold my hand if I saw you in heaven?
 Would you help me stand if I saw you in heaven?
 I'll find my way through night and day,
 'Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven.

 Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees.
 Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please.

 Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure,
 And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven
SONGBIRD  (Christine McVie)
For you, there'll be no more crying,
For you, the sun will be shining,
And I feel that when I'm with you,
It's alright, I know it's right

To you, I'll give the world
to you, I'll never be cold
'Cause I feel that when I'm with you,
It's alright, I know it's right.

And the songbirds are singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before.

And I wish you all the love in the world,
But most of all, I wish it from myself.

And the songbirds keep singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before, like never before.....

Don’t Think of Him as Gone Away

Don’t think of him as gone away –
his journey’s just begun;
life holds so many facets –
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know, today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost –
and he was loved so much.
The Parting

How fading are the joys we dote upon!
Like apparitions seen and gone.
But those which soonest take their flight
Are the most exquisite and strong,
Like angels' visits, short and bright;
Mortality 's too weak to bear them long.

- John Norris -

Death--- the last sleep?   No the final awakening.
---Walter Scott
I Promised You
I promised to be with you
to never leave you alone.
I promised to always comfort you
when others had done you wrong.
I promised to be there to pick you up
in times when you should fall.
I promised my perfect will for your life
which was the greatest promise of all.

I promised to always hear your prayers
and to meet your every need.
I promised to always bless you and
to even bless your seed.
I promised to work all things out
for from ME you didn't part.
I promised you your household
and this promise will heal your heart.

I've a few more promises to give you
that concern your precious son
Promises that only I could make from heaven
that on earth could not be done.
I promise he'll always be with me,
with a smile upon his face.
All the hopes and dreams you had for him
won't compare to this beautiful place.
There is one more promise I give you
to carry in your heart.
It's that promising day you'll see him again
and you'll never ever part.

The Other World
Harriet Beecher Stowe

It lies around us like a cloud,--
The world we do not see;
Yet the sweet closing of an eye
May bring us there to be.

Its gentle breezes fan our cheeks
Amid our worldly cares;
Its gentle voices whisper love,
And mingle with our prayers.

Sweet hearts around us throb and beat,
Sweet helping hands are stirred,
And palpitates the veil between
With breathings almost heard.

The silence--awful, sweet, and calm,--
They have no power to break;
For mortal words are not for them
To utter or partake.

So thin, so soft, so sweet they glide,
So near to press they seem,
They lull us gently to our rest,
And melt into our dream.

And, in the hush of rest they bring,
'Tis easy now to see
How lovely and how sweet a pass
The hour of death may be!

To close the eye and close the ear,
Wrapped in a trance of bliss,
And, gently drawn in loving arms,
To swoon to that--from this.

Scarce knowing if we wake or sleep,
Scarce asking where we are,
To feel all evil sink away,
All sorrow and all care.

Sweet souls around us! Watch us still,
Press nearer to our side,
Into our thoughts, into our prayers,
With gentle helping glide.

Let death between us be as naught,
A dried and vanished stream;
Your joy be the reality,
Our suffering life the dream.

The gods conceal from men the happiness of death, that they may endure life.
---Lucan
For death begins with life's first breath
And life begins at touch of death
---John Oxenham
St Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
... where there is injury, pardon;
... where there is doubt, faith;
... where there is despair, hope;
... where there is darkness, light;
... where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
... to be consoled as to console;
... to be understood as to understand;
... to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
... it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
... and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I Am Not There

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
