Barry Jones-Keyboards and Vocals

I’ve been a musician for 35 years. (Whoa!) My main instrument has been guitar until about 6 years ago when a great friend of mine needed a keyboard player to round out a honky-tonk country band. The rest is history. I made the big switch from comfortably playing my 2 custom built guitars to struggling with a bunch of black and white keys. It’s worked out well and has been a blast! I joined "Blue Creek" in 1999 and after taking last year off, we’re back providing great country music to the Northeast.

I’ve had the pleasure to work with some great country artists such as Mark Wills, Cindi Thompson, Chely Wright, Steve Azar, Jessica Andrews, Ricochet, Doug Stone, Tammy Cochran, opening at "Country Fest" in Saratoga with Chris Cagle, Phil Vassar,Billy Ray, Diamond Rio and Jo Dee Messina and then again in Utica with Chris, Phil and Jo Dee. Thanks to the great folks at WGNA, I’ve also worked with Keith Urban and Chad Brock at Northern Lights. (I’m not quittin’ till I hook up with Vince Gill).

I use a Roland RD-500 for my main piano and controller. I midi a Kurzweil to the Roland for Strings and some additional piano. I midi a rack mount Boss sound module to the Kurzweil along with a Roland D-10 synth for brass and the "crazy" stuff. I recently added a Hammond XK-2 organ to the set-up. (I missed the sound of a B-3) Now all I need is a couple of lessons!
