February 4, 2006 - In his first year of eligibility, Troy Aikman was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame today. Former Cowboys tackle Rayfield Wright, from the Staubach era, was also voted in. The remaining four enshrinees are linebacker Harry Carson, head coach John Madden, quarterback Warren Moon, and defensive end Reggie White. Formal enshrinement ceremonies will be held in Canton, Ohio, during the weekend of August 5-6, 2006.

October 28, 2005 - Troy, in his first year of eligibility, is on the Pro Football Hall of Fame preliminary list of
"modern-era" nominees for the Class of 2006. Hall of Fame selectors will choose 25 semifinalists in November. The 25 semifinalists will be reduced to 13 candidates plus two senior committee nominees John Madden and former Dallas Cowboys Rayfield Wright. The 2006 inductees will be selected from the 15 finalists and announced on February 4th.
September 19, 2005 - Troy, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin were inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor during halftime in a Monday night game against the Washington Redskins at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas.
August 28, 2005 - Fox Sports will air a one-hour special devoted to fantasy football. Troy, Terry Bradshaw, James Brown, Howie Long and Jimmy Johnson host. Show airs 2 p.m. central.
August 26, 2005 - Troy and Joe Buck will be in the FOX booth for the broadcast of the preseason game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. central.
August 24, 2005 - Happy 4th birthday to Miss Jordan Ashley Aikman.
August 18, 2005 - Troy and Joe Buck will be in the FOX booth for the national broadcast of the Patriot and Saints game. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. CDT.
August 16, 2005 - Troy and Roger Staubach, as Hall of Fame Racing, have signed Texas Instruments as their primary sponsor for Nextel Cup racing in 2006. The team has also entered into a partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing, which will supply them with Chevrolet engines, equipment and technology. They plan to be ready by the Daytona 500. Troy and Roger first announced their plans to own a NASCAR team in January 2003, and have struggled to find an appropriate sponsor. Also today, Troy, Joe Buck, and Pam Oliver were at the Patriots training camp, at Gillette Stadium, preparing for Thursday's broadcast. Patriots.com reports that Troy signed a lot of autographs for fans.
August 13, 2005 - Troy will join Brad Sham in the Cowboys radio booth for Saturday's preseason game in Arizona when the Cowboys take on the Cardinals at Sun Deveil Stadium in Tempe. Kickoff is at 9:00 p.m. CDT. For radio, check the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the game will be shown on television on KTVT (CBS 11).

July 25, 2005 - FOX Sports announced today that it has signed a multi-year contract extension with Troy. Barry Horn reports in the Dallas Morning News that the extension keeps Troy with FOX through 2011. Troy, who had one year to go on his previous contract, had been talking with ESPN about going to Monday Night Football, although no formal offer had been made. Because NBC has hired Cris Collinsworth away from FOX, Troy will now be in a two-man booth with play-by-play man Joe Buck. Troy and Joe will call their first game as a duo on Thursday, August 18, at 8 p.m. eastern time for a preseason game between the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints.
July 20, 2005 - At a press conference today at Cowboys Stadium in Irving, Texas, team owner Jerry Jones announced that Troy, Emmitt and Michael, affectionately known as "The Triplets," will be inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor together. The ceremony will take place at halftime on September 19, during a Monday night football game against the Redskins. I think Cowboys fans would agree with our former QB who said it best at the press conference announcing the induction of the triplets: "That's the way it should be."
April 27, 2005 - Troy and Roger Staubach will act as honorary co-chairs of the 17th annual "Beyond the Rainbow" Luncheon and Fashion Show. The event benefits pediatric oncology treatment and research at the Children's Medical Center and the UT Southwestern Medical Center of Dallas. The event will be held in the Chantilly Ballroom at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Individual tickets for the event are $100 and tables (for 10) are $1,000. April 20, 2005 - Troy will be among eight individuals inducted into the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame class of 2005. The induction ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at Cotton Bowl Plaza in Fair Park. The ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m., and is free and open to the public. Voting is based solely upon an individual’s performance in, or contribution to, the Cotton Bowl Classic rather than on the person’s college or professional career. An individual is eligible five years after their final Classic appearance. Each Hall of Fame member is honored with a personalized bronze statue. This trophy features the likeness of a 1930s football player, the era in which the Cotton Bowl was founded.
Troy led the UCLA Bruins to a 17-3 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks on January 1, 1989. He was 19 of 27 for 172 yards and one TD. Troy engineered two commanding scoring drives of 93 and 74 yards, the first one consumed 19 plays for a Cotton Bowl record. His passing was so proficient that at one point in the game he was 13-of-14 on third down. He controlled the game clock for almost 43 minutes and completely wore down the Razorback defense.
March 9, 2005 - Today the National Football Foundation released the list of 75 former players on the College Football Hall of Fame Division I-A ballot, for the induction class of 2006, and Troy is on the ballot. The Hall of Fame class will be announced in late April and inducted at an awards dinner December 6th in New York. They will be officially enshrined at the Hall in South Bend, Indiana, in 2006.
February 6, 2005 - It's been IX years since Troy played in his third Super Bowl, but FOX will give us plenty of Aikman on Super Bowl Sunday to help fill that void. Here are some of the festivities FOX has planned:

- 6 p.m. eastern: Super Bowl XXXIX. Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots from Alltel Stadium, Jacksonville, Fla.
Troy, Joe and Cris in the booth for FOX will be broadcasting their first Super Bowl game.

January 25, 2005 - Dallas Morning News business writer Steve Davis reports that Troy will be assuming ownership of Alan Lukehart's Leadership Ford on Central Expressway near 635 in Dallas, and the dealership will be renamed Troy Aikman Ford. The sale will also include Big Country Dodge just outside of Abilene, Texas. That dealership will be renamed Troy Aikman Dodge. Davis reports that Troy stated, "I'm a pretty goal-oriented, pretty driven individual. I just have felt for the past few years that I need something else in the off-season to keep me going." This is Troy's second foray into the car business. In 1996 Troy acquired part ownership of a dealership renamed the Troy Aikman Automall in far west Fort Worth, Texas. He later sold his interest.
