The fundraiser included an evening filled with horseracing, Texas-style gourmet dining, a raffle, and a silent auction of items donated by local celebrities. Channel 11's Babe Laufenberg interviewed Star-Telegram columnist Randy Galloway (the honorary chair of the event) along with Troy. April 18, 2000 - Stop by Troy's area at www.athletesdirect.com and read his new journal entry. He and Rhonda are home from their honeymoon. (This is on the Internet - so you don't have to be an AOL member to read it!) AOL members can access a mirror site on AOL: My Official Home Page - Troy Aikman.

April 17, 2000 - Athlete Direct, America Online. Troy stopped by his American Online message board briefly this evening a little after 9:00 central time, and answered a few questions. Many of you have written and asked me what posts on AOL are like. Here's an example: Deion Question.

I was just wondering how you think the team has done in the offseason?
I'm excited about what we are doing this off-season. Of course, I am excited every year about our acquisitions. I think we have addressed some needs this year that should help us in the upcoming season. It's been interesting to watch what the other teams in the NFC East have done also. It should be an exciting divisional race!

I read somewhere a long time ago that you left UCLA with only one class left to finish. If that is true did you ever finish and get your degree?
I was unable to finish my last quarter of school at UCLA due to being chosen as the first player in the draft. As a result, I left school 3 classes away from earning my degree. I have not completed those remaining courses. I'm still hopeful that I will get that done soon.

I would like to know if you are planning on signing autographs for the Dallas Cowboys Travel Agency this upcoming season?
I'm not sure if I will be signing for them this season or not. I don't believe that I have done any signings for the travel groups in the past. I'm not quite sure how Travel handles those request.

Will there be any way to keep Deion in a Dallas uniform for the rest of his career?
All indications are that Deion will not be back in Dallas for next season. It sounds like there is a good possibility that he will be playing for the Redskins next year.

April 11, 2000 - Dallas, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Aikman delayed the start of their honeymoon so that Troy could fulfill his obligation to the Children's Cancer Fund of Dallas, Inc. Troy and Roger Staubach once again were the honorary co-chairs of the "Beyond the Rainbow" Fashion Show and Luncheon held at the Wyndam Anatole Hotel. The annual event raises funds for the Children's Cancer Fund of Dallas, Inc., which supports research programs in pediatric oncology and hematology at Children's Medical Center of Dallas and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The event includes a luncheon, a fashion show with local celebrities modeling clothes along with young cancer patients, a raffle, a silent auction, and a live auction. The 1999 event raised over $400,000.
