November 27, 2001 - Read "Aikman's take: Redskins are for real" at NFL.com.

November 25, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton will call the Washington Redskins (4-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (6-3) game for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern at the Vet.

November 22, 2001 - Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! After playing football on this holiday for the past twelve years, this will be "A different Thanksgiving for Aikman".

November 21, 2001 - HAPPY 35th BIRTHDAY, TROY!

November 20, 2001 - Read Aikman's take: An NFC East showdown, Troy's analysis of Sunday's 'Skins vs. Eagles game.

November 19, 2001 - Philadelphia Daily News writer Dana Pennett O'Neil gives Troy and DJ high marks for broadcasting. Read "Teeming with insightful analysis: Aikman, Johnston an entertaining duo."

November 18, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton will call the Philadelphia Eagles (5-3) at Dallas Cowboys (2-6) game for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern. Also, be sure to watch the "FOX NFL Sunday" pregame show - Troy is scheduled to interview Eagles QB Donovan McNabb.

November 15, 2001 - Does Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Randy Galloway think Jerry should hire Troy as GM? Read "Jerry should turn to Plan Aikman".

November 15, 2001 - Read the transcript of the NFL on FOX midseason conference call. Panelists are Troy, John Madden, Cris Collinsworth and Boomer Esiason. Among things discussed, Troy talks about his first year in the booth and gets praised AND ribbed by his cohorts. Also, this little bit of trivia from John Madden: "Let me tell you one thing Troy about doing your first game at Texas Stadium, there is a difference. There's only one booth in the NFL that has a bathroom in the booth. Now, that's the only place. You don't even have to leave the booth. That is one different thing that you'll find."

November 12, 2001 - Troy gets high marks from Chicago Sun-Times columnist Ron Rapoport for callin' 'em as he sees 'em. Read "Aikman picks apart Bears--from booth."

November 11, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the Green Bay Packers (5-2) at Chicago Bears (6-1) for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern. Troy says it "could very well prove to be the best game in the league this weekend."

November 10, 2001 - Read "Bears look good to Fox's Aikman" at the Chicago Sun-Times online.

November 5, 2001 - Old loyalties don't keep Troy from honest critique of his former team. Read Richie Whitt's column "Aikman proves he's not afraid to rip Cowboys" in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram online.

November 4, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants game for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern.

November 2, 2001 - Writing in USA Today, Rudy Martzke quotes Troy on analyzing his first Dallas Cowboys game for FOX: "To me it's just a game," [Troy] says. "I'm not going to get melancholy and teary eyed. There are many Cowboys players I haven't played with. It's a different team."

October 30, 2001 - Read Aikman's Take: Bucs Respond Big at NFL.com.

October 28, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern. In his weekly column for NFL.com, Troy said, "there is certainly no love lost between these two teams, and I am sure Tampa has revenge on their mind."

October 23, 2001 - Be sure to read Tim Cowlishaw's column in the Dallas Morning News: "Jerry's account of Aikman's departure is revisionist history" which discusses the fact that all of a sudden, Jerry Jones has forgotten that he released Troy Aikman a month before Troy decided to retire!

October 21, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the St. Louis Rams at New York Jets game for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern. In his October 16 column for NFL.com, Troy says, "I'm looking forward to covering St. Louis this week. We've been covering teams with great defenses so far this season. For the first time this year, I'll be doing a game that features a team with an explosive offense. It should be a lot of fun to watch."

October 16, 2001 - Read "Aikman's take: Bucs 'D' looks for answers" at NFL.com.

October 15, 2001 - Troy joined Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg in the Dallas Cowboys Radio booth as a guest analyst when the 0-4 Cowboys played at home against the 0-4 Redskins. The Cowboys won 9-7 on a last second field goal by Tim Seder (who had been kicked in the kicking leg by the Cowboys' horse during pregame warmups). Troy was one of many celebrity guests who are helping out on the Cowboys radio broadcasts this season. Before the game, Troy appeared on Dale Hansen's pregame show on WFAA-TV, Dallas. Dale asked Troy whether the Cowboys had paid him all the money they owed him and whether the checks had cleared. When Troy confirmed they had, Dale asked him if he would quarterback for the Cowboys if Jerry Jones asked him to come back. Troy said no. "I think in the current situation that this team is in and what's going on from a directional standpoint, I'm very happy in the booth."

October 14, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tennessee Titans game for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern.

October 9, 2001 - Writing in the Dallas Morning News today, columnist Barry Horn states, "Fox has decided that the timing is finally right to assign Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston to work a Cowboys game. They'll be in the booth for the Cowboys-Giants game on Nov. 4."

October 8, 2001 - Read Troy's analysis Aikman's take: Vikings in trouble at NFL.com.

October 7, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints game for FOX. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern.

October 5, 2001 - The Dallas Morning News reported this morning that Troy has been nominated by an Irving man to carry the torch for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Sean Warden's nomination stated "the Aikman Foundation's motto, helping children one dream at a time, makes Troy a valuable and inspiring asset to our community." Troy will be one of 42 torchbearers from North Texas who will carry the Olympic Torch in Texas from December 10th to 12th, and again on January 12th.

October 2, 2001 - Read Barry Horn's column Aikman showing glib side as analyst in the Dallas Morning News.

September 30, 2001 - FOX will air the movie "Jerry Maguire" tonight -- don't forget, Troy made an appearance.

September 30, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the New Orleans Saints at New York Giants game for FOX. This is the first home game for the Giants following the terrorist attack on New York City, and is certain to be highly emotional for everyone at the stadium and watching on television.

September 25, 2001 - Writing in the Dallas Morning News, columnist Barry Horn says, "Already the talk at Fox is that Troy Aikman and Daryl Johnston will be sent their separate ways next season. That's not because they haven't clicked working with play-by-play voice Dick Stockton, but rather to give each more time to shine in a two-man booth. ... The possible lineup if Fox does indeed break up it's No. 1 team: Joe Buck-John Madden; Pat Summerall-Aikman; Dick Stockton-Johnston."

September 23, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton are scheduled to call the Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears game for FOX.

September 9, 2001 - Troy, Daryl Johnston, and Dick Stockton called the Chicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens game for FOX. Did you happen to catch FOX's "NFL Sunday" pregame show? If you did, then you saw a photograph of Papa Aikman and Papa Johnston holding their newborn daughters...and Troy looking as if he could burst from happiness!

September 8, 2001 - In his column today, Dallas Morning News media columnist Barry Horn writes, "The Cowboys' Aikman always sounded guarded, as if he were speaking not only for himself, but also with the burden of the entire organization hanging on his every word. Fox's Aikman sounds more relaxed, more like a guy with whom you might like to have dinner."

September 6, 2001 - "The surprising thing is the amount of time preparing. I watch more film now than I ever did as a player and I'll probably know more football now than I did as a player," says Troy. "As a quarterback, all I ever watched was defense.
