Hobbies and Interests:
My main interest is family history and genealogy in Australia, England, and the United States.

The following picture is that of my great great grandfather, THOMAS REYNOLDS. He was born 20 Mar 1843 aboard the SS SUCCESS 3 days out of Fremantle, Western Australia.

Although relatively new to the family research game, I find it truely captivating and thoroughly interesting to trace down my family heritage and discover what motivations and accumpishment my ancestors endowed their decendent with.

I hope that by commencing this web page that my research will be of interest and help to others who may be researching the same family lines.

REYNOLDS:
Thomas REYNOLDS was born in Piddington, Oxfordshire England 31 Dec 1810 to Richard Reynolds and Mary Blake. He married on 26 May 1831 at Piddington to Mary Hawkins. Mary and Thomas had 4 children in England and departed with 3 of the children in Nov 1842 onboard the "SUCCESS" bound for the Swan Colony in Western Australia. Another child, Thomas Jr. was born onboard "SUCCESS" 3 days out of Fremantle. The ship arrived 22 Mar 1843. Another five children were born in Western Australia.

Thomas Warner was born in England in 1828. He arived in Western Australia 26 Jan 1846 onboard "Cumberland". Thomas was a Packhurst Boy. On 2 Feb 1852 he married Sarah Reynolds at Northam, W.A.. He died 1869 at York, W.A.

GENTLE:
William Gentle was born 1824 in England. He Ann Bolton about 1846 and the couple had 2 children. On 19 Mar 1851 William and a mate were convicted of breaking and entering. They were placed onboard "ASCENDENT" in 1851 and sent to Bermuda. Once in Bermuda they were placed onboard the convict hulk "COROMENDAL". After surviving 10 years of the hulk system in Bermuda, William was transported back to England Apr 1861 onboard "MEDWAY" and confined at Chatham Prision. In 1863 he was placed aboard "CLYDE" and transported to Australia, arriving 29 May 1863. On 23 Jun 1863 he was granted his Ticket of Leave and 15 Feb 1864 gained his Conditional Pardon. He was reunited with his wife and children when they arrived Jun 1864 onboard "STRATHMORE".

ENDERSBY:
John Endersby was born 12 Oct 1842 in England. He married 1863 at Cambridgeshire to Rebecca Gentle (daughter of William Gentle and Ann Bolton). They departed England and arrived in W.A. Jun 1864 onboard "STRATHMORE" with Ann's mother and brother.

South Australia
HALL:
William John Frederick Hall (son of Richard Hall and Rose J.) was born in Scotland in 1870. He arrived in South Australia with his parents at the age of 10 years. In 1899 he married at Pt. Pirie, South Australia to Sarah Jane Maud Marshall (daughter of William Marshall and Mary Parker). Sarah and WJF had 2 children in South Australia and then moved on to W.A. where they had a further 4 children. Sarah died in 1914 in Perth, W.A. and WJF remarried in 1917 to Laura Alice Martin in Busselton, W.A.

MARSHALL:
William Henry Marshall (son of William Marshall and Sarah Higgins) was born 10 Nov 1844 in Hindmarsh, South Australia. He married about 1867 in South Australia to Mary Ann Parker. They had 9 children, one of whom was Sarah Jane Maude Marshall who married William John Frederick Hall above.

MARSHALL:
William Marshall married Sarah Higgins (daughter of Austin Higgins and Mary below) in Adelaide, S.A. 8 Apr 1844. They had 3 children.

Victoria
HIGGINS:
Austin Higgins (son of John Higgins and Sarah Perry) was born 1787 in Tottercliffe, Kent, England. He married 1805 at Rochester, Kent, England to Mary Nash (daughter of Thomas Nash and Mary). Austin died 12 Jan 1861 at Clydesdale, Victoria. Mary died 9 Mar 1863 at Clydesdale, Vic. Austin and Mary had 10 children, most born in Kent.

New South Wales
DUNLOP:
John Dunlop was born 1794 in Ayrshire, Scotland. He married 27 Feb 1815 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire to Marion Douglas. John was transported to Australia as a convict onboard "ROYAL ADMIRAL" sometime between 1830 and 1833. He died at the Liverpool Asylum, Sydney NSW in 1835. He and Marion Douglas had 5 known children in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.

SNOW:
Henry Snow was born 1823. he died 6 Jun 1871 at Bathurst, NSW. He married 1854 at Bathurst to Honorah Mennia. They had 10 children all born in Bathurst.

PERCIVAL:
William Frederick Percival was born in Tasmania to Maxwell Percival. He married 1885 at Bathurst, NSW to Clara Theressa Snow (daughter of Henry Snow and Honorah Mennia). William and Clara had 9 children including my grandmother, Mary Philamena Percival who married Reginald Robert Dunlop at Paddington, Sydney, NSW in 1927.

MACAULEY:
Jane Macauley was born in Ireland to Robert Macauley and Sarah. She married 12 Jan 1861 at Queanbeyan, NSW to John Dunlop (son of Ebenezer Dunlop and Ellen Willock) Jane died 1887 at Queanbeyan. She and John had 8 children. Upon Jane's death, John remarried 20 May 1889 at Bungendore, NSW to Mary Jane Harriott (daughter of William Harriott and Grace McHenry).
