Tuesday Night Square Dance

About the Square Dance

The Tueday Night Square Dance occurs on the second Tuesday of the Month at St. Mary's Parish Hall on the University of Pennsylvania Campus in West Philadephia. Live callers and old-timey music mark this informal and relaxed dance. No partners or experience necessary. It's an exceptional American experience for students of the English language from other cultures and countries.

Admission is $5. and for students with ID, $3.50.
The dance runs from 7:30 to 10:15.

The Winter/Spring 2006Schedule:

February 14, 2006 - Vince Masciarelli calls the dance to the old-timey tunes of Noname - Ray Frick and friends.

March 14, 2006 - Band and caller to be announced

April 11, 2006 - Chester County's Pete LaBerge calling the dance to Delaware County's Three-Legged Cat.

May 9, 2006 - Lane Neubauer will be calling the dance with Wissahickon Drive providing the tunes.

June 13th, 2006 - Sam Rotenberg calling the dance to the tunes of Fingerpyx. Pre-dance pot-luck dinner/barbecue at 6:30pm outdoors weather permitting. Please bring something to share.

Metered parking is available along Spruce, 40th and Walnut Streets. Free parking after 8pm.

Old-Time music jams also occur at the Mermaid Inn, 7673 Germantown Avenue, usually the 4th Tuesday of the Month from 8pm - 12. For info - 215-844-7253.
