Jewish life
Orthodox. Bar Mitzvah in 1964. Graduate Hebrew school/ Talmud Torah. Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Kansas City, Missouri. I was the editor of the newspaper, and regionally a vice-president of Synagogue Youth Organization (SYO) in the National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY) in the late 60s. Played basketball and chess, read Philip Roth novels, who could doubt I was Jewish? I even wanted to date Catholic girls, such a simple Jewish life.
in 1966. Became more frum (religious) in 1967, learned with rabbis until 1970. Including Rabbi Polin in St Louis at T'feres Israel Chevra Kadisha (TICK). I still identify with Orthodox practices and traditions although would not consider myself Orthodox by their definition.

My son's Bar Mitzvah in 1992 and my daughter's Bat Mitzvah in 1997 were great family events. My parents came over to the East coast of the US from Kansas City to be part and that was an honor to be sure. Here's a couple other pictures to enjoy from the kids' Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
