CLUB HISTORY:-HOW IT STARTED:
The King’s Gambit chess club was inaugurated September 9th 1986 at the Brandon Remembrance Sports and Social club with an initial cash injection granted by the Brandon Festival committee of fifty pounds (£50) following the first Brandon Festival Chess tournament.
The founder members were:.................
Grace Arnold, Alan Boyd, David Boyd, Cyril Bradley, Bob Jones, Chester Jureko, and Owen Tudor.

The EACU is a constituent part of the ECF & embraces: Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Huntingdon - Peterborough, Norfolk and Suffolk. Is a constituant part of the English Chess Federation

MORE CLUB INFORMATION
The chess club has moved its social & training night to Tuesday 7.pm start, at the Brandon Sports & Social Club (BRSSC) on the Brandon Remembrance Playing Field
(turn West into Church Road near the Brandon TESCO Stores - Petrol Station traffic lights, see the remembrance playing field entrance on right hand side by the Bowling green, well signed & excellent parking facilities with a children's play area - Mind the sleeping policemen!)
As from August 2005. BTFC management have agreed to lease
the old Sports & Social Clubroom and welcome back past activities:
Chess, Darts, Dominoes, Pool & card games.
American chess-players will find a welcome here too!
