The RHYTH-O-MATICS
Style: SKA and World Beat (African influence) instrumentals
The RHYTH-O-MATICS have performed with MADNESS, JIMMY CLIFF, OLATUNJI & MICKEY HART, FISHBONE, TITO PUENTE and many other top acts. In addition to these two CDs, the RHYTH-O-MATICS appear on three current SKA compilation albums on the Shanachie label, as well as two Moon Records’ SKA compilations with other groups including NO DOUBT.

“Walking In The Shadow”, produced by BOB JOHNSTON (DYLAN, JIMMY CLIFF, ETC.) was critically acclaimed in BILLBOARD, SPIN, and other music publications. The CD also includes the 2 sides of their “Skatalation/Trickster” single and another un-released track of that vintage. LPs are in short supply.
“Ghost Skankers” features their patented afro/ska sound with a greater emphasis on the ska and includes all three singles from the compilation albums.

SKY RANGERS
Style: Modern COUNTRY SKA with CAJUN & COWBOY influences
The SKY RANGERS are made up primarily of The RHYTH-O-MATICS. Two songs crossover from the “Ghost Skankers” CD. It also features pedal steel by GEORGE PIBURN and vocals by DAVID FRIEBERG and LINDA IMPERIAL. The material consists of modern-day re-makes of traditional cowboy songs like “Home On The Range” plus originals, appealing to a wide range of ages. Style is country & country ska, with upbeat instumentals.

This JIMMY FOOT CD is your basic songwriter’s CD. It includes a wide variety of material. From “Mr. Rhythm & Blues”, featuring the blues legend CHARLIE MUSSELWHITE, to the country/rock sound of “Jammin’ Man”,this album also features a number of Bay Area artists including DAVID FRIEBERG (Quicksilver, Starship), dance diva LINDA IMPERIAL, and trombonist WAYNE WALLACE (Sheila E., Machete). JIMMY FOOT has played with many groups including The RHYTH-O-MATICS, REGGAE JACKSON, HEDZOLEH SOUNDS (from Ghana), blues legend HARVEY MANDEL, jazz bassist PAUL JACKSON, SKY RANGERS, and SUSAN SHY. "The Instrumentals" CD includes tracks from The RHYTH-O-MATICS and SKY RANGERS CDs plus a number of other original tracks.

"Truth & Rights" Style: REGGAE & SKA
ROD DEAL was a pot grower in Northern California who was very caught up in a struggle with CAMP forces that invaded his peaceful life in the Humboldt hills. His song “Two Million Acres” cries out against irresponsible logging practices in the northwest. “Marijuana Man” is a SKA classic waiting to happen. Featured on this CD is percussionist ED MANN from FRANK ZAPPA’s band, and JONI HAASTRUP from GINGER BAKER’s Air Force. A New release version includes a bonus track & band info on CD Extra.
REGGAE JACKSON
"Smash Hits" Style: REGGAE & WORLD
Dylan producer BOB JOHNSTON recorded this album in 1980. It features CHERYL LYNN on background vocals and KENNETH NASH on percussion. This album was and remains a bit of world beat history from the San Francisco Bay Area.
