This is our scan of a Xerox copy of a Xerox copy of the Marriage Certificate of Jean Gabriel Bonzon and Mary Powell. We do not know the size of the original document, or its present location. (We have not edited out the indcations of where the document had been folded, although we may have erased a comma or two.) It reads as follows:
"This is to Certify that on the first day of April, in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four, Before me, Christian Buhl, one of the Justices of the peace in and for Butler county, were Legally Joined in marriage, Mr. John Bonzon and Miss Mary Powel, they declaring themselves of full age and free, respectively, from prior engagements or other lawfull impediments. In witness whereof they, the said John Bonzon and Marry Powel, plus I, the said Justice, have hereunto Let our {crossed out} names the day and Year above written."
Both Jean And Mary made their Marks on this document.
