Sophia Bonzon Powell

Sophia Bonzon was born about 1805 in Pennsylvania, most likely in The Brush Creek area of Beaver county, near Unionville. The daughter of Pierre Louis Bonzon and Marguerite Magnenat, she has the distinction of being the first Citizen of the United States of our family. She married Joseph (#2) Powell, 1/18/1793(94) - 1870, son of Joseph (#1) Powell and Barbara Beam. (Joseph (#2), the son, had a sister, Mary, who married Sophia's brother, Jean Gabriel.). Young Joseph (#2) trained as a blacksmith, but after he married Sophia, they bought a farm in Beaver county, Pa. Thirty years later they move to another farm in Butler county, Pa. That second farm passed on to his son Joseph (#3). We list these children.
