My Bromeliad Gardening Page
My garden simply contains Bromeliads & Orchids nestled among the Oaks.
Most of the Bromeliads spend there lfe outdoors. The Orchids stay inside a glass sunroom. After the temperature drops, these plants compete for space inside.
Some manage only to share space in a dimly lit, unheated garage.

My Plant Tips
Bromeliads and Orchids are very compatible plants
These plants need bright light, adequate humidity, moisture and lots of air movement.
Living in USDA Zone 8B provides the biggest obstacle.
The summer months are hot & humid.
The winters are too cold for most of these plants to survive outdoors unprotected.
All my plants need shelter from the extreme cold snaps from December thru March.
My plants spend the cold winter months sheltered in my attached sunroom.
During the summer, my bromeliads live outdoors under the Oak trees.
The orchids stay inside the sunroom.
