Looking For A Sane Roommate
A Sane Roommate
Basic Facts
The unit was originally two one-bedroom apartments, which were combined into one two-bedroom (and two-full-baths!) duplex.  There is now one bedroom and bathroom (plus a couple "common rooms") on each floor.  What was the second kitchen is now a wetbar with lots of shelves, adjoining the main living room.  I turned the second living and dining rooms into a weight room and an office.  The original dining room still adjoins the remaining kitchen, but I've put in a smaller table and chairs so there's room for a TV and loveseat, making a secondary living area/den.

I promise this will all make much more sense if you click on the "Take the Tour" link below and check out the pix.

Details
Besides the wetbar, the unit has a gas fireplace, exposed brick, hardwood and/or stone tile floors throughout, with lots of original woodwork in tact.  There's a dishwasher and air conditioning, and a laundry room close by in the building.

It's in the 800 block of West Cornelia, a block west of Halsted, and four blocks from the Addison El Stop on the Red Line, at Wrigley Field.  Five blocks from the lake.  Your share is $500/month.  Here's a Map of the Immediate Area

What I'm Looking For
As far as what I'm looking for, financial responsibility is by far the most important.  I am very nonjudgmental of others, drawing the line when their actions hurt other people.  Within that definite boundary, though, I firmly believe in "live and let live."  The separate floors offer enough privacy that the hours you keep are pretty irrelevant to me.

I have two cats and, temporarily, a small Yorkie (doesn't shed), so obviously, someone would have to be okay with animals to live here.  I'd rather not try to live with a member of the Republican Party, but I'd try to keep an open mind about that as well.

I am looking to rent it sometime soon, but I'm trying to remain flexible for the ideal match.

And This is Me:

Just in case it isn’t apparent from the color schemes already employed — I’m gay — which, I suppose, I should probably declare here for the general purposes of this page.  It doesn’t really define me any more than being blue-eyed or brunette, but if that's something you’ve got a problem with, well, then, it's probably best to click the little “X” in the upper right hand corner now.

And Peace be with you, too.

Likewise, I can’t imagine I'd make an ideal dinner companion (let alone roommate) for anyone who believes that the Bush/Cheney/Ashcroft/Poindexter Junta is actually good for our country.

Otherwise, as long as you also believe in “live and let live,” we’ll most likely get along famously, and I invite you to …
