Gordon rebuilt this Mustang almost from scratch.  Like the other cars and trucks in his stable it is in perfect condition.  He takes this car to parades and shows all across southeast Iowa.  The 1966 Mustang is a C code car with a 289-2v engine with automatic.  I have had a chance to drive this car on several occasions and decided to go with gas shocks because this one rides so nice.  It has a black interior and the crowds love it.  He learned once to never put a price on it because it would be worth it.
At shows he is generally in the toughest class because so many people restore early convertibles.  He is used to picking up the first place trophy though and has a wall full of them.  This year at the Iowa city show I think there were six in his class and several red ones.  I am trying to talk him into buying some 1966 spinner hub caps for the car.  So many of these cars have styled steel wheels on them and it's nice to see one with the origional hub caps on white wall tires.
This is Gordon accepting yet another trophy.  This time it was at the Waterloo 2000 Ford show.
Here he is in the Knoxville Nationals parade in August.  He generally gets to take the queen or one of the court on a ride around Knoxville, Iowa.  I am pretty sure he has been in every Knoxville Nationals parade with the club.  Sometimes he has a parade in the morning and a show in the afternoon.  He says he is busier now retired than he was when he was working.
This is Gordon and Vera at the 2001 Tulip Time event.  I think Gordon has been to more events than any other Mustang club member.  He has a lot of fun throughout the southeast Iowa area.
