Conversion
Acts 20:17-21
by John A. Kohler, III

Conversion, which is the result or effect of regeneration, is a voluntary change in the mind of an elect sinner in which he inwardly turns from sin in repentance and inwardly turns to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith. It is first an act of God, then it is an act of man in response to God.

“Conversion consists in the turning of the heart to God and holiness. It is a turning of the thoughts, desires, and affections of the heart from sinful and carnal lusts and pleasures toward holy things, and God, and Christ, and salvation. It is a turning from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God.” J. P. Boyce
