The Total Depravity and Inability of the Natural Man

The natural man has no ability to come to the Lord Jesus
Christ unless God the Father effectually draws him (Jn. 6:44,65).

The natural man has absolutely no spiritual life (Rom.
5:12; Eph. 2:1).
-
The natural man has a corrupt heart that defiles him (Mat.
15:18-20).
-
The natural man has a carnal mind that is enmity against
God, not subject to God’s law, and wholly incapable of being subject to
God’s law (Rom. 8:7).

The natural man has no ability to please God (Rom.
8:8).
-
The natural man has a heart that is deceitful above all things,
desperately wicked, and wholly incapable of being known by man (Jer.
17:9).

The natural man has no ability to do good, to understand
spiritual things, or to seek God (Ps. 14:1-3; Jn. 3:3; Rom. 3:11-12;
I Cor. 2:14).

The natural man has no inherent righteousness (Rom.
3:10).

The natural man has a defiled mind and conscience (Tit.
1:15).

The natural man has no inherent goodness and is wholly incapable
of performing that which is good in God’s sight (Rom. 7:18).

The natural man has no ability to love others with God’s
love (I Jn. 3:14).

The natural man has blinded eyes and a hardened heart and
is wholly incapable of believing the gospel (Jn. 12:39-40).

The natural man is lost and has the gospel hidden unto him
because Satan has blinded his mind (II Cor. 4:3-4).

The natural man is accustomed to doing evil and has no more
ability to do good than an Ethiopian has to change his skin or a leopard
his spots (Jer. 13:23).

The natural man is shapen in iniquity and is a sinner from
the moment of his conception (Ps. 51:5).

The natural man is estranged from God from the womb and goes
astray as soon as he is born, speaking lies (Ps. 58:3).

The natural man is unclean and is wholly incapable of doing
anything righteous in God’s sight (Isa. 64:6).

The natural man loves darkness rather than light because
his deeds are evil (Jn. 3:19).

The natural man is by nature a child of wrath who has his
conversation in the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh
and of the mind (Eph. 2:3).

The natural man’s every imagination of the thoughts of his
heart is only evil continually (Gen. 6:5).The natural man
is an unclean thing and is wholly incapable of producing anything clean
(Job 14:4).
