Descendants of Smith and Tabitha George Scroggins

My Family Heritage

My name is Brenda Scroggins Sawyer. My older brother, William E. Scroggins, got me started on researching the family line and I have become addicted to it. With every piece of information I find I get more excited and do more research. This has been a long hard road as we didn't know any of our Scroggins relatives when we were growing up. I can make no guarantees that all of this information is correct. I do have Smith's Civil War records and documents from the Marietta Confederate Cemetery. I will make any corrections that are needed as they are found. I will also be adding new information as I find it. When I am not working on my genealogy I have an active interest in gardening and my two German Shepherds. I am also a Harley rider. I have been married to my husband David for 38 years. We have a daughter who lives in Atlanta, GA and a son who lives in Texas. I hope that anybody out there who is related to this line will get in contact with me. I look forward to hearing from new cousins. If you are related to this line, I have more than what I have put in here. The picture above is of the section that Smith jr is buried in at the Marietta Confederate Cemetery in Marietta GA. Please check out my links below. They will take you to some more information on the family. The information on this page may be used for your own research, but it may not be used for profit without my permission.

My Current Research

I am currently trying to find information on the family of Robert Scroggins. He had two daughters who married into the Woodral family and they lived in or around Heavener, LeFlore County. OK. Robert lived in Scott County. AR. I am also still looking for more descendants of Abner. Although I have found a few of his descendants, I would like to find more. There is a Scroggins family reunion the second weekend of August every year in Kiowa, Oklahoma. If you are interested then please contact me for place and time. Please check out findagrave.com for my Scroggins burials and some pictures. On the date of date for Smith and Tabitha George. My brother has recently found documentation with the above date. It has the signature of both Smith sr and Tabitha. You may also find more information on the line at Ancestry.com on my brother's web site - Scroggins Family Line
