My rocketry career started in 1967, when my big brother brought a 1966 Estes catalog home.I was in third grade at a the time. While my brother built an Astron Skyhook, I sent for an Astron Sprite. The Skyhook flew great, The Sprite was "Destroyed in testing" on the living room rug. Never the less, I was "hooked". My first Successful model was the Astron Alpha.
I continued to build and fly Estes rockets until high school when other things caught my attention. When my boys were born though, well, I had to entertain them somehow! Now I'm a BAR. One of my first High power scratch built rockets was an upscaled Astron Skyhook, to honor the rocket that got me "hooked"!

Clear and Present Danger, My NAR Level 2 project, flew on a Hypertek J205 Hybrid to an altitude of 1,976 feet.
