Bucksteps Boxers:
Dogs from our past

Around the edges of this page are thumbnail images of some of the dogs that have been influential in our breeding program. Please click on the thumbnail image to see a larger image of that dog or browse through our pages of photos of our old dogs and our page of sires.

  • Cider Gold Of Bucksteps (Candy). Born 1970. Candy was my very first boxer. She was a lovely girl and was bought as a companion for my 2 small sons. She was not a show dog but was a very good brood bitch and produced my first show puppy.

  • Bucksteps Brunhilde (Heidi). Born 1973. Candy's daughter, her sire was Pensing Esquire and she was born in our first litter. She qualified for "Crufts" at her and my first show. She produced my first CC winner.

  • Bucksteps Miss Brodie (Brodie). Born 1977. Brodie won 1 CC & 1 RCC also her Junior Warrant. Out of Bucksteps Brunhilde by Pensing Barclay of Bucksteps, she was a very good bitch and a great producer. Every Boxer in my kennel is her direct descendent.

  • Bucksteps Bag'N'Baggage (Jonty). Born 1980. His dam was Bucksteps Betty Button (daughter of Candy/Barclay) his sire was Ch. Alldane Golden Wonder Of Trywell. Jonty was the Grandsire of Jenny Townsend's first Ch. Bitch (Bucksteps Bit'O'Bother at Jenroy) unfortunately he did not like the show ring so went to live in a pet home.

  • Bucksteps Blindmans Buff (Buff). Born 1981. Out of Brodie by Ch. Biloran Mr Similarity, He was a lovely rich red and produced super feet and bone, Buff lived with us until his death at the age of 13.

  • Bucksteps No No Nanette (Sybil). Born 1982. Again out of Brodie her sire was Ch. Tyegarth Famous Grouse, Sybil was my all time favorite she was always my constant companion, and the undisputed "Top Dog" until her death age 10. Again a great producer.

  • Bucksteps The Boyfriend (Andy). Born 1984. Out of Sybil by Pensing Norwester, Andy did very well in the showring, because of his wonderful construction and head. Unfortunatly he had a very poor mouth so I did not use him much and none of my present dogs go back to him.

  • In the Buff at Bucksteps (Lisa). Born 1985. Bred by Annette Strachan-Abel By Buff out of Socotra's Royal Fern (litter sister to the beautiful Ch. Socotra's Royal Game) only bred from once as she had a bad section, but she produced a lovely bitch Bucksteps Starkers, who bred on for us.

  • Bucksteps Quality Street (Alice). Born 1992. Out of Starkers by Bucksteps Going for Gold, this was a lovely bitch with an outstanding head. She won very well for me as a puppy with several Best Puppy in Show awards, she also bred on well and is the Gt Granddam of my youngster Bucksteps Broderie Anglaise.

  • Bucksteps Bertie Wooster (Barny). Born 1992. Barney is the litter brother of Alice, he lives with Mathew Cowley in Australia, where his breeding has proved very useful. He also spent a short time in NZ with the Harrisons, and is the sire of their young bitch Ch Valeska Adictive as Hell.

  • Nor. & Swedish Ch. Bucksteps Blushing Groom (Toby). Born 1993. Toby went to Wenche Swanberg when he was 12 weeks old. He was the litter brother of my own Bucksteps A Taste Of Honey. He won very well for Wenche and was a much loved family member.
