My name is Marco Marchiani. Back on November 25th, 2003, I launched this FAN SITE for my all-time favorite band, Blessid Union of Souls. I have the permission and approval for the content on this page from Eliot Sloan (co-founder of BUOS).

Jeff Pence, former guitarist and co-founder has left the band, and has created his own band, which he is also calling and claiming to be Blessid Union of Souls.
Just to make clear, I am in no way slandering, nor attempting to slander the name or the person named Jeff Pence. My purpose in sharing this information is to simply inform other fans of Blessid Union of Souls of the situation. -M.M.

There has been plenty of buzz recently floating around the internet about a
Blessid Union of Souls break-up. According to Jeff Pence (co-founder), the i-tunes downloadable CD, “Almost Acoustic” by Blessid Union of Souls was done without his approval. This is according to a post that was posted under the name "JP" in which the poster of that messege claims to be Jeff Pence.
Also, earlier this year (2008), several messeges were posted on the BUOS "Yahoo! Groups" page by Jeff Pence, in which he claimed that "Blessid
Union of Souls is dead. " These postings have since been deleted.
! ! ! UPDATE MARCH 2008 ! ! !
This March, 2008, I received a personal email from Eliot Sloan
(co-founder/lead singer). Sloan has reassured me that Blessid Union
of Souls HAS NOT broken up!
From what I have learned personally about Eliot Sloan over the
years is that he is a man with a very strong character. He has shown me
so much respect and appreciation for the work I have done over
the years on my BUOS Fanpage. He has never given me any
reason not to trust him. Therefore I have complete trust in his
word.
I'm not going to post everything that Sloan discussed with me in the email
until or unless they choose to make the information public.
However, I (Marco Marchiani) will tell you that right now, there is only
one TRUE, CURRENT and OFFICIAL Blessid Union of Souls
website on the internet that is ran by Eliot Sloan and the other band
members, and for now that one site is their MySpace page.
blessidunion.net has indeed been taken over by Jeff Pence.
As many may have already noticed, Pence has renamed the formally offcical website
"blessid u."
Jeff Pence has also formed his own MySpace page. However, remember that the MySpace link above represents the true Blessid Union of Souls.

Available now only iTunes,com is the new album from Blessid Union of Souls entitled "Almost Acoustic - Volume 1" which features songs by Blessid sang mostly acoustic and includes lead singer Eliot Sloan narrating and telling the story about each song, its roots, and what inspired the music. This is a must have for all us BUOS fans!!

According the Eliot Sloans’ MySpace page, he is working on a solo Christian album. There are a few songs posted on his page, and I love them, and would love to see Sloan put out a full-length Christian CD.

Hopefully soon I can bring this site back to being dedicated to the MUSIC of Blessid Union of Souls. But for now, in this tiny free space AOL allows me, I felt it was important to help spread the word about the Jeff Pence situation.
Blessid Union of Souls are an amazing band. Lyrics with meaning. Music that will inspire you. In my opinion, one of the most under-appreciated bands ever.
