The 3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry - 25th Infantry Division served in Vietnam from 1964 - 1970. The early Troops that served in Vietnam in 1964 till the Squadron deployed to Vietnam in 1965 & 1966 were in the Shotgun Program - these were doorgunners that went TDY to Vietnam for a period of time, and then came back to the Squadron, and most were then deployed when the Squadron went to Vietnam. In Dec. 1965 C Troop was Deployed to Plieku. Most of the Troops except C Troop all went to Vietnam through Okanawia, and stayed at Camp Hansen - A Marine Base - where they picked up all new M48 Tanks and APC's 113's and then went by LST to Vietnam and then convoyed up to Cu Chi, Vietnam in early 1966. Later in Vietnam all Troops were at Cu Chi, Vietnam. And all went back to Hawaii from there.
