Meet The Family

Hi, we are Collin and Amy.

We just are to become parent of multiple children this spring (2003). This is our page to keep everyone informed of our progress.

The rocky start

Right now we have five babies. They are labeled A, B, C, D, and E in the ultrasound. D and E are identical twins that did a late split. The first time that we went to the doctor (Sept 16, 2002), we were told we had quadruplets. That changed a week later when the ultrasound revealed a set of identical twins sharing one sac. They all had heartbeats that showed up on the ultrasound. What a sight. Of course, Daddy was passed out cold out of fright at trying to send five children to college. He tends to think ahead a bit. :)

Twins

Oct. 8th is our prenatal visit with a high-risk ob and of course, another ultrasound. Stay tuned as our adventure continues...

October 25th update:

We went and found out that we lost three of our precious babies a few weeks back. We have our hopes high that the two left will be healthy and happy babies that are born this spring (preferrably in May).

We had an ultrasound on 10-22-02 that provided insight to their unique qualities. The baby on the right was calm and remained relatively still (Amy predicts that this will be the girl) and the one on the left - well, lets refer to (him)as the exact opposite. (He) was kicking his legs as as if he as in a race of some kind. It seemed like his sac could barely contain him. :) Of course it is too early to know their true genders but that is Amy's guess. Collin just prays that they won't both be girls because he is concerned about being able to live in a home with that much estrogen running around. :) I am sure that time will tell.

We will continue to see the doctor and have ultrasounds every two weeks for now. We just pray that God will continue to take care of our precious children.

November 2003: Well, much time has transpired. We are now the very busy parents of twin girls born in April 2003. They are both very healthy and full of energy. We are amazed at the transformation that our life has taken now that we have two children that demand our undivided attention. Amy now stays home with the girls and Collin recently began a new job. We also bought our first house and moved to a new city that is drastically different than we have ever encountered before. God will have to guide us. We are just along for the ride.
