Authentic Traditional Cajun Music

The traditional early Cajun music of Louisiana played with strong commitment to authenticity and youthful energy by a trio of Cajun musicians dedicated to its preservation.

Savoy-Courville ...
A cajun band that plays strictly traditional cajun music favoring the sounds of cajun music pioneers, such as Amedée Ardoin , Iry Lejeune, Lawrence Walker.

Their driving rhythms have taken them to numerous crawfish boils, “boucheries”, fish fries, fêtes and dance halls in their native Cajun country and on as far as the main stages along the eastern seaboard from South Carolina to Connecticut, and first time overseas last June 2003.

The band is composed of :

* Wilson Savoy,
accordion and vocals from Eunice, Louisiana. The 21 year old son of Marc and Ann Savoy, can be found mosts Saturday mornings jamming with the Cajun legends at the Savoy Music Center in Eunice. He also plays in the western swing band, The Red Stick Ramblers and The Savoy Family Band.

* Kevin Courville,
fiddle and vocals from Eunice, Louisiana. Cajun fiddle player since 1986, guided by Cajun legends such as Sady Courville and Wade Frugé, Kevin plays the fiddle, old-style, old time. He toured the UK and France in 1999 in the group, Sacalait.
He also recorded with Sacalait "l'esprit de la Louisiane".

* Frik-A-Say,
guitar, he also toured within the United States with the Band “T-salé”., we believe was raised somewhere up north and showed up one day on acadiana's step ..... His early years up north
found him studying various styles of guitar with such notables as Dave Van Ronk and John Monaco... In his later years he was influenced by the sound of the Cajun accordion and the warmth of the Cajun people and their music........He now resides in Eunice LA with his family
